Our four pillars mimic those of the National Organization for Rare Disorders (NORD); education, advocacy, research, and patient services. Our organization works to educate students about rare diseases. We bring in guest speakers (researchers, physicians, and patients) and student presentations as a fulfillment of these four pillars. We also host service opportunities to reach out to patients with rare diseases and to raise money for research organizations.

 

RARE TAMU targets pre-medical, pre-nursing, pre-PA and other students looking to enter the healthcare industry as members. Through the guest speakers that visit our organization, presentations put on by students, and volunteering activities performed with the club, we help develop highly skilled pre-health students that prepared to excel in the various professions that they choose to enter.
